Wasn't there another community for ranting after the first one got baleeted? Are Bryke TOSing these comms, or what?

Anyway, rant incoming.

Nickelodeon sucks.

I know it's not a big deal to most people anymore. The episodes have all aired (even that secret one where someone brings a gun into a school) and the DVDs are out and we aren't reliant on them for our canon anymore.

But I'm still pissed at them for their terrible handling of the show.

I've heard a lot of excuses made for them. Saying that really, these things were just set in stone, they couldn't help letting the episodes air first in England then in Canada. They couldn't help releasing Boiling Rock on DVD before airing it. They couldn't help that the Sozin's Comet book got out months before the finale aired. They's good people.

I'd heard otherwise, from the Danny Phantom fandom. I haven't gotten around to watching Danny Phantom, so I know nothing about it, but fans have told me Nick pulled some similar douchery on them.

And now? It's X-men. Motherfucking X-men. X-men airs in Canada before it airs here. Spanish dubs are airing in some Spanish-speaking country (I don't know which, I've just seen the Spanish dubs floating around everywhere) before they air here, and if I'm counting this right, before the even air in Canada in English.

This isn't a show by some Mike and Bryan nobodys. This is Marvel. Stan Lee. Stan Lee got Stripperella on the air faster than he could get X-men on Nick. And it still airs in Canada FOUR MONTHS before it airs here. Because, you know, X-men doesn't have a rabid fanbase or anything, and they certainly won't resort to illegal downloading to get their fix. *eyeroll*

I don't want to hear any more excuses about how the Nick execs are doing their best. They're really bad at their jobs, okay?

If/when Mike and Bryan work on their next project, I don't know what network I want them to put it on. At least Nick didn't cancel them, and didn't mess around with their creative process that I know of, which is good and all, but if we don't even get to see their next project, it doesn't do them much good that they had creative freedom with it, you know?

Maybe they could cut out the middleman and just work for YTV, since that's where it's going to air first anyway.

I believe the creator of the community deleted it, actually.

I agree that Nick's handling of the series was poor. But then, they've always done that with most of their series. They have this habit of not being able to handle things well. It's sort of weird.

o rly.

Why, so it has been! Deleted and purged, apparently. I feel an awful lot more satisfied than I reasonably should.

Hahaha, I can't say I blame you. Here, I'll tell you the story. Gather round.

I made the last post in that community before it was deleted. I ranted about everyone taking that "Book 4" spoof too seriously. All the butthurt Zutarians and whatnot. So the mod makes some weird and stupid posts in reply and finally another member attacks them for it. Since it's my post, all the comments come to me.

I go to read what's going on only to find the mod is freezing the comment threads that are arguing with him/her/it. I got annoyed, unfreezed them and wanked with the best of 'em. We had a freezing/unfreezing of threads battle for a while before the community was abruptly deleted. And I LOL'd.

The end~!

brb dying of laughter

And that, children, is why you don't let someone who's been on fandom_wank so many times they give her frequent flyer points run a major fandom comm.

... I frequent FW and I had no idea she had been featured on there that many times, lmao

Good times. I'm sad I didn't take screenshots of it all before it was deleted.

Well, the 'airing first outside of the states' isn't something Nick can really control: once they sell the licence to an out-of-country station, that station can air it whenever they want. The only way to stop that is to wait until after it airs in the states to sell the licence...but then we Canadians get the shaft.

Well, they don't have to wait a gazillion years to air it. The whole thing has already aired in full in Spanish and Portuguese.

You know what they do air? SPENGBAB. I hate that goddamn sponge.
