Wasn't there another community for ranting after the first one got baleeted? Are Bryke TOSing these comms, or what?|
Anyway, rant incoming.
I know it's not a big deal to most people anymore. The episodes have all aired (even that secret one where someone brings a gun into a school) and the DVDs are out and we aren't reliant on them for our canon anymore.
But I'm still pissed at them for their terrible handling of the show.
I've heard a lot of excuses made for them. Saying that really, these things were just set in stone, they couldn't help letting the episodes air first in England then in Canada. They couldn't help releasing Boiling Rock on DVD before airing it. They couldn't help that the Sozin's Comet book got out months before the finale aired. They's good people.
I'd heard otherwise, from the Danny Phantom fandom. I haven't gotten around to watching Danny Phantom, so I know nothing about it, but fans have told me Nick pulled some similar douchery on them.
And now? It's X-men. Motherfucking X-men. X-men airs in Canada before it airs here. Spanish dubs are airing in some Spanish-speaking country (I don't know which, I've just seen the Spanish dubs floating around everywhere) before they air here, and if I'm counting this right, before the even air in Canada in English.
This isn't a show by some Mike and Bryan nobodys. This is Marvel. Stan Lee. Stan Lee got Stripperella on the air faster than he could get X-men on Nick. And it still airs in Canada FOUR MONTHS before it airs here. Because, you know, X-men doesn't have a rabid fanbase or anything, and they certainly won't resort to illegal downloading to get their fix. *eyeroll*
I don't want to hear any more excuses about how the Nick execs are doing their best. They're really bad at their jobs, okay?
If/when Mike and Bryan work on their next project, I don't know what network I want them to put it on. At least Nick didn't cancel them, and didn't mess around with their creative process that I know of, which is good and all, but if we don't even get to see their next project, it doesn't do them much good that they had creative freedom with it, you know?
Maybe they could cut out the middleman and just work for YTV, since that's where it's going to air first anyway.
